Owner / Coach
My name is Iona Paterson and I am one of the owners of zone Glasgow. I have been a personal trainer for 8 years. Initially I worked in Pure Gym, followed by my own personal training Studio Bodyfit Glasgow before opening Zone One with Will.
I’ve always been involved in sport and I was a competitive swimmer from a young age. After I stopped competing at swimming I found the gym and I’ve loved it since. When I joined the gym I tried all sorts of training from cardio to bodybuilding to powerlifting until I found functional fitness.
I truly believe that when someone says they hate exercise, they just haven’t found the exercise that’s for them. At zone one we want to help you find the exercise that you love.
Biggest personal achievement in the gym: coming 3rd in the Turf Games Summer Festival Elite 2022.
Biggest personal achievement outside the gym: Ooh that’s tricky - I guess it’s technically in the gym. But building the most incredible community of clients, I feel so grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people.
Current training: I sway more towards the CrossFit side of functional fitness in my own training. I love learning new things and as someone who was scared to do a cartwheel as a kid I’m finding all the gymnastics very empowering!

Owner / Coach
Hey team! My name is Will and I’m one of the owners at Zone One, Glasgow. I’ve been working in the industry for almost a decade now, having started as a personal trainer when I was only 17 (seems crazy thinking back). I started as a coach in Pure Gym for 2 years before branching off into a semi-private studio, then my own studio, Power HQ and now Zone One is where I call home.
Although exercise as always been an important part of my life, having grown up in Biggar playing rugby, the gym wasn’t always somewhere I felt comfortable. I was pushed into training as a way of recovering, having undergone knee surgery at 16 and needing to build some strength. Needless to say, I haven’t looked back since!
Instead of my biggest gym achievements I’m going to tell you my biggest training goal currently, which is complete a triathlon. Considering I can’t currently swim…this could be interesting!
Biggest Personal Achievement Outside The Gym: that would have to be playing a part in building a community of like minded people who constantly strive to achieve more and inspire one another.
Current Training: A little bit of everything at the minute, I’d like to learn to swim properly so I could compete in triathlon, I have a few Hyrox doubles events coming up and I also have my targets set on some lifting PBs.
Fun fact about me: both my two front teeth are fake, another rugby incident…

Personal Trainer
Alright team. My name is Luke Watt, I’m 28 years old and I come from the east end of Glasgow.
You’ll find me coaching a lot of our SGPT sessions in Zone One as well as heading up the Z1 run club which we run multiple times per week.
I’ve been coaching since lockdown - which feels like yesterday, but I guess time does fly when you’re having fun.
I’ve been involved in sport all my life. Signing at the age 8 for Motherwell FC, I started my professional football career where I spent 13 years crafting my way from pro-youth all the way to the first team. I’ve played for lots of Scottish teams, Motherwell, Airdrie, East Fife, Stranraer, Brechin, Linlithgow Rose and currently play for Cumnock. I also moved to Croatia at the age of 21 to play for NK Novigrad.
Biggest Personal Achievement In The Gym: Having the best mullet in the gym is a big personal achievement. I also did a muscle up once…
Biggest Personal Achievement Outside The Gym: Playing in front of 60,000 people at Celtic Park. Closely followed by a sub 20 minute 5k.
Current Training: I’m currently running my own version of 75 Hard called ‘The Watto’s Solid 60’ which is all geared towards perfroming my best at Hyrox Glasgow. As well as also kicking a ball about a pitch every Saturday.
Fun fact: The first tattoo I got was spelled wrong. It is in Scottish Gaelic so let’s just kid on that it’s correct…

Hellooo! My name is Carly Wilson, and I've been a personal trainer for 8 years. I have worked in different gyms across the years in Glasgow doing face to face pt, group coaching, and I run my own online coaching business '1111 Coaching'. I joined the team in Zone One January 2025, and it feels like a second home to me.
To be honest, I've not always been into fitness, it took me until my mid 20's to actually get into it. Over the last 10 years of training I’ve dabbled in powerlifting, olympic lifting, running and functional fitness. Doing this has helped me build my self confidence, my independence, and mental resilience I didn't know I had, which is a pretty cool realisation.
Biggest personal achievement in the gym: hitting a 125kg back squat, and getting my first unassisted chin up (I genuinely never thought I would be able to do that).
Biggest personal achievement outside the gym: Running my first ever half marathon in 2023 and raising over £1000 for SAMH Charity.
Current training: I am loving Olympic lifting, learning how to do gymnastics movements, and running again.
Fun fact about me: I played the drums in a band called Typhoon in my early teens, rock n roll.
